Multi-Disciplinary Team
At Children’s Advocacy Centers throughout the State of Nevada, we follow a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) approach when dealing with allegations of child abuse or exploitation. MDTs include representatives from law enforcement, Child Protective Services, prosecutors, medical professionals, mental health counselors, as well as advocates to assist victims and their families throughout the process.
The purpose of this approach is to ensure that children using services at a Children’s Advocacy Center throughout Nevada are given the best possible chance to be heard and cared for in the least invasive, least repetitive way possible. Ultimately, our teams work together to help children and non-offending family members to regain their sense of agency—as well as to secure safety and justice.
