Therapy & Psychological Services
The Children’s Advocacy Centers of Nevada offer a variety of services ranging from crisis intervention and psychological evaluations to group, family and individual therapy of child victims, siblings, and non-offending caregivers.
Our staff uses a comprehensive approach in order to restore the child’s sense of comfort, safety and agency. We employ a number of therapeutic strategies, including play, movement, art, and music, which help children to express their feelings creatively—and reminds them that they are not alone and not responsible for their abuse. Ultimately, it is our intent to lessen the impact of trauma and improve long-term mental health outcomes for children.
Upon referral to the Children’s Advocacy Center closest to them, every child is evaluated so that our therapists, caseworkers, and the child’s caregivers can design a unique, coordinated treatment plan. Regular review meetings are scheduled throughout treatment to monitor progress.
